Where your Health and Fashion is our Focus

Welcome to Good Looks

At Good Looks we take pride in building lasting relationships with our patients, which is why we take the time to get to know you, your vision requirements and your lifestyle needs.

Why Choose Good Looks?

Good Looks - No wait
No Wait:

We do NOT double book patients and we do NOT schedule 10 minute eye exams. We stagger our eye exams every 30 minutes to allow for any medical eye problems that may need additional time to evaluate. We monitor our patient wait time very carefully. Last year the average wait time was less than 5 minutes from the scheduled appointment. We pride ourselves on promptness especially if you are wanting an eye exam during your lunch hour.

Bling w/o the Sting:

Because we carry many of the world’s top fashion eyewear, we cater to those patients who want the absolute best in prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses. We know that not everyone can afford to buy the glasses the movie stars wear, so we carry several selections of frames that are more economically priced and yet are unique to Raleigh, NC. This way you can have something different from what you find at the retail chain stores, but still be competitively priced.

Good Looks - personal care
Personal Care:

You want the same eye doctors and same opticians year after year. The doctors at Good Looks are the same doctors since our inception in 2013. We are a family business in the true sense of the word. When you call, you know us, and we know you. If you don’t want to take our word for it, read our Google Reviews. We carry one of the highest star ratings with Google in Raleigh, NC.

christensenWhy Choose Good Looks:

Good Looks was nominated in the top 4 optometric practices for 2016 in the Best of the Triangle by Indy Week. With so many retail, private, and commercial practices located throughout Raleigh, Cary, Durham, and Chapel Hill, it is indeed an honor to be recognized as one of the best practices in 2016. We appreciate all those who voted for us.

Good Looks - affordable eye exam
Affordable Eye Exams:

Most people have eye insurance to cover their eye exams. That is wonderful and we take most insurances. Unfortunately, not everyone has health insurance and we do not want you to postpone your eye exam because you cannot afford care. Good Looks offers two types of eye evaluations that can meet your budget. Simply call our office for the prices. We can cater our services to provide your entire family with their vision needs.

Good Looks - Unique fashion frames
Unique Fashion Frames:

We have the largest section of frame board displayed eyeglasses in Raleigh with over 1,000 eyeglass frames. We hand-pick every frame and do not purchase any frame in bulk. We also do not buy mass merchandiser frames you find at big box retailers. Many of our frames come from Paris, France and Milan, Italy. You are unique. We are unique. Your eyewear should be unique.

Q&A with Dr. R

Dr. Risk Answers Your Eyecare Questions

Q: Do I have Dry Eye Syndrome?

Dry eye syndrome, also known as Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca is a prevalent condition affecting millions of men and women – women more often than men. It is characterized by dry, sandy, burning, irritated, red eyes, among other symptoms. Although, the symptoms are due to lack of lubricating tears, sometimes it can lead to excessively watery eyes.

Chronic dry eye can cause damage to the eye’s surface, eventually, resulting in inability to produce tears. Left untreated, severe forms of dry eye can even damage your vision.

Dry eye can be caused or aggravated by factors such as too much tear drainage, contact lens wear, aging, certain medications, different health problems and environmental factors (dry or windy weather, heaters, air conditioners).

Dry eye syndrome is treated with better lid hygiene, warm compresses, artificial tears to lubricate the eyes, medicated eye drops to reduce the ocular inflammation and increase tear production, laser cauterization or punctal plugs to reduce tear drainage or newer technologies such as LipiFlow that increase the quality of the tears.

The treatment option that is best suited for you depends on many different factors and should be discussed with your eye care provider.
